10-28 Eng. I – Mrs. Harris – Eng. 1
- Review homework in class.
- On board: Romeo and Julier, Act II, Sc. II
- On board: W.C. book: pg. 496, Ex. 2, 1-5 – write the sentences / pg. 497, Ex. 3 (all)
- Be prepared for a TEST on finding the COMPLETE SUBJECT and THE COMPLETE PREDICATE.
- Talked about homework. Class said what they didn’t understand. Turn to pg. 808. You literally have to read a line then look to the left and if that doesn’t help you, get a dictionary.
- On board: Identify the complete subject and complete predicate.
- First 5 lines = Basically he tells him he’s not going to do anything. Movie: Scene 1: we’re in the middle of conflict between the Montagues and the Capulets. Know who we meet in the beginning. You meet Gregory, Sampson, Tybalt, Lady Montague, Lady Capulet, Romeo, Benvolio.
- You need to read Scene II. She asked who would be willing to act. Pg. 808 – stage directions. Know what is said about the Montagues from the conversation Sampson and Gregory are having. (The Montagues are not popular people –they’re not favorable people).
- Take out the sheet you were doing yesterday and notice how the vocabulary part relates to what is happening in the story.
- Setting: Verona, Italy. Montagues and Capulets are fighting. We meet Sampson and Gregory first. The scene in Verona is full of conflict. Take out your sheet from yesterday and do the back/front. We’re in 1500’s in Italy.
