Announcements: 

* End Of Course TEST PART I is postponed until at least February 22. We will have to start the test over, and take it via paper and pencil (can you imagine!?)

*Extra Credit Opportunities: 
1) Community Conversations - Facing History and Ourselves *
*Join Facing History and Ourselves for a community conversation and performance of the acclaimed gosple musical, Look What a Wonder. The event is FREE and you should think about taking a friend or parent.
*If you choose to attend this event, you need to do 2 things to earn up to 100 extra credit points toward ANY GRADE.
        (1) Bring PROOF of attendance (ticket stub, signed playbill, selfie?)
        (2) Write an essay about the musical, connecting the legacy of this history and the themes of courage, resilience, justice, and equity in our society today. (minimum 500 words)

2) Memphis Upstanders Mural
*Facing History and Ourselves needs your help to create the Memphis Upstanders Mural. You can nominate someone who you think is worthy of consideration for this mural. Nominations should be 300 words or less and submitted by February 26.
*Submit a copy of your nomination to Coach Yarbrough as well to earn up to 50 points towards any quiz grade.

3)  "Memphis Burning" - Due: February 29
*Take time to write an essay, analyzing the importance of creating visual memories of past events (particulary, events of racial violence). Do you think historical markers are enough to remember these events in a meaningful way?
