Biology Plus Notes- October 1, 2015
First Period
Bell Work- What did Darwin notice about the Finches in the Galapagos Islands? Why were their beaks different?
They were different so they could get the food available on the island.
The students watched a video on biodiversity.
Biodiversity is very important.
The students were given a handout on Adaptations, i.e. hawk with keen eyesight has better chance at survival and reproduction than a bird with poorer eyesight; butterfly that is camouflaged has better chance of survival and reproduction than one that is not; artic hare in the snow is more protected from predators, than if it was in the Tropical Rain Forest
They were going to discuss this during the 2nd period.
