Note:  Chat not here today but work is on board; Crawford is sub.  Don’t see Erykah, so guess she’s absent.

2. Objectives:  Write compare/contrast paragraphs

Chatman wrote:

“Attention:  Assignment for all classes:

Compose 2 Compare/Contrast papers.  Must be 2 separate paragraphs for each paper.

1. Must include poits of contrast as wellas points of comparison.
2. Must use transitional expressions for contrast.
3. Must use transitional expressions for comparison.
4. Highlight the first word only in every sentence that begins with a preposition or subordinate conjunction—only the first word.  Do not highlight prepositions and subordinate conjunctions that do not begin sentences.
5. Highlight coordinate conjunctions and punctuate as needed.
6. Must be neat!  I will not accept any work that isn’t neat!
7. Submit your paragraph before you leave class if you want credit when I return.
8. I will only grade papers that are submitted in class on 11-7-14.

Do not bring me a paper Monday morning.  I will not accept it!

9. Staple your papers if you have more than one.
10. All backpacks and purses to the front of the room.
11. No phones, no bathroom, no water, no food!”
