HIP Reading

HIP Reading 2014-2015
WSHS Room 218B Main Building
Contact Hours: 2:15-5:00pm (M-F)

This year in HIP Reading we will continue to improve our reading and vocabulary skills. Students will be given new vocabulary every Monday and will be tested on that vocabulary every Friday.  Every week students will be given Quizlet cards to help them study and everything will also be on my blog.


Required Supplies:
Scheduler/Planner (Will be used for all classes)
1.5” -  2” Three Ring Binder
Dividers with tabs (for binder)
Filler Notebook Paper
Pens/Pencils

Extra Credit Supplies: I will give extra credit throughout the semester for the following items.
Kleenex
Printer Paper

CLASS EXPECTATIONS:
1.     Be on time
2.     Be In Uniform
3.     Be Prepared with your binder, paper & pen
4.     Be Ready to Learn
5.     Be Attentive
6.     Be Involved
7.     Be Respectful

CRITERIA FOR GRADING:
Student academic achievement is determined by the following criteria: 
•10%   Homework
•20%   Class Participation (does not refer to student conduct)
•20%   Classwork/Daily work/Journal
•50%   Tests/Quizzes/Projects/Presentations




GRADING and ASSESSMENT:
Excellent         93-100             A
Good              85-92               B
Satisfactory     75-84               C
Poor                70-74               D
Failing                    Below 70                     F
Incomplete*                           I
