Chemistry Brooks

REMEMBER

Part / Total xAmount Given in the problem

Same problem but we are not multiplying by 100, we are multiplying by thenumber given in the problem.

1. How many grams of calcium arein 23.45 grams of Ca(OH)2

Ca = 40.08 x 1 = 40.08                 40.08/ 74.10 x 23.45
O2 = 16.00 x2 =  32                      32.00/ 74.10 x 23.45
H2 = 1.01 x 2 = 2.02                     2.02 / 74.10 x 23.45
          TOTAL: 74.10

NOW WE HAVE TO LOOK AT THE AMOUNTOF Significant Figures in the Problem. Then that decides how many SF’s will bein your answers.
