WEDNESDAY:

1.     Go to the www.collegefortn.org
2.     In the right hand corner, click on CREATE AN ACCOUNT
3.     Click on HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT
4.     Fill in the information: birthday, school name, etc.
5.     Make sure you write your username and password down to put in your binder.

Once you have created an account. Look through the website for the rest of the period. Look under CAREER PLANNING at different jobs/careers that might interest you. THere are a lot of videos you can watch that help explain the different jobs. Since you created an account, you can save information or careers that you think you might like to your profile. You can also save schools that you might be interested in. 



THURSDAY:

Cody and Shannan:

2.     SIGN INTO your ACCOUNT
3.     Click on CAREER PLANNING
4.     Make a list of POSSIBLE JOBS THAT INTEREST YOU
5.     Make a list of POSSIBLE SCHOOLS/COLLEGES that you could attend
6.     Email Mrs. Ferrell Your Research

Once you have created an account. Look through the website for the rest of the period. Look under CAREER PLANNING at different jobs/careers that might interest you.



FRIDAY:

Cody and Shannan: Finish your worksheets

If they are finished they can play educational games on the computers or watch OIC movies. Shannan knows how to set it up for everyone.

Consumer Math 6th

Today in Consumer Math students re-deposited their paychecks from last week and also learned how to balance their checkbook/register.

Tomorrow: Since half of the class will be on a field trip, we are going to practice writing checks and counting money.

Math- Ferrell

Today students deposited their first pay check into the Bank of Ferrell. Thursday they will learn how to fill out a check register and balance their checkbook. Remember that Friday is a pay day... and that since we will not be here on Friday you will get paid on Thursday. Also remember that you have bills due on THURSDAY!!! Great Job Today!!

Consumer Math

Today in Consumer Math students demonstrated how to fill out a deposit slip correctly and they also demonstrated how to count money in dollars and coins in the range of $10 - $500. REMEMBER if you did not finish your individual deposit slip... make sure you finish it for homework. I encourage you to ask your parents for help :) GREAT JOB TODAY!!! As always!!

Today Students Filled in their Classroom Calendars: When bills were due, When they get paid, etc. They learned different techniques for paying their bills. They also color coded their calendars to help know when certain bills were due.

Today in Consumer Math we worked on sales tax problems and students also learned how to create a calendar in Microsoft Word. The class also went over the classroom economy and when certain bills are due. Here is a picture we took to add to our calendar.

Consumer Math

Today we reviewed Fixed Expenses and Flexible Expenses. We also watched a video on the difference between wants and needs. For homework students have to complete the worksheet below. Due Friday since they will be on the field trip tomorrow. Friday I will check binders and students will complete their own pretend budget. FYI: Students Remember Friday is Pay Day for our classroom economy :)

Today in Consumer Math we talked about many successful deaf individuals including William Hoy, Marlee Matlin, Thomas Eddison, Laurent Clerc, Matt Hamill, Ashley Fiolek, I King Jordan and Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet. Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to Skype with Randy Jackson a former White Station High School graduate who is going to talk even more about Deaf Culture since it is Deaf Awareness Week. YAY!!
