Bell Work- The students copied a diagram of the 2 major types of cells: Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic.
Prokaryotic cells- Bacteria and Archea
Eukaryotic cells- Plants, Animals, Fungi, and Protists

Bell Work- What does the Golgi Body do for a cell?
Golgi Body packages proteins into vesicles (bubbles) to move to other parts of the cell.
Students should have definitions for the following:
Cell Parts: Functions (jobs)
1. Nucleus- “Brain” – controls other cell organelles
2. Endoplasmic Reticulum- ER are both Smooth – storage lipids, steroids and Rough- rough have ribosomes and helps assemble proteins.
3. Vacuole- “Bubble”- stores water, food, and nutrients
4. Chloroplast- Traps energy from sunlight for photosynthesis
5. Cytoskeleton- helps support structure of the cell
6. Golgi Body- Packages proteins into vesicles (bubbles) to move to other parts of the cell.
7. Nucleolus
8. Cell Membrane
9. Centrioles
10. Mitochondria
11. Lysosome
12. Ribosome
