Biology Plus Notes- Dec. 11, 2015

 

Every student has a Biology Review.  They need to try to answer questions 1-30 (skip 28-29).  They can go to Ferrell Blog for a Biology EOC Review. 

 

Students are working on answering questions 1-30 now. Some completed this yesterday. 

Coach P is giving the answers. He is explaining all the questions.  Students should be copying the notes as Coach P is writing them on the board. (Josh is not cooperating!)

1. A.  Combine- put together; Compound- more than one part;

2.  A.  Valence- Outer energy level

3.  A. Mono-1, saccharide-sugar= carbohydrates

4.  A. Stores and transmit heredity- DNA, RNA, Nucleic acids

5.  C.  Poly=many; simple=NAH; glycerol is not made of fatty acids; RNA is made of nucleotides. Amino acids are not made of proteins.

7. D. If something combusts, something is burned.  

8. B. Enzymes work outside of the cell. Enzymes speed up chemical reactions. 

9.  A.  A substance that accelerates the rate of a chemical reaction- Catalyst= speed up
