1. Topic:  the book – it’s written in 1st person.  Hanna and Clay are telling the story—it jumps back and forth.  Everyone knows what a cassette tape is, right?

2. When Clay first got the box of tapes, what is his reaction?  He was excited.

3. On board:  Do Now! – Bullying is ____________;  People who bully others_________________

_______________________________________________________; People who are bullied by others_______________________________________________________________________.

4. Hanna did the right thing; she committed suicide.  She made tapes, before she did it, of why she committed suicide.

5. Ms. Harris put 2 large signs on board tray:  “AGREE”    and the other    “DISAGREE”

6. On board:  Homework:  Prepare your Do Now for a check!

7. They are all discussing the book.  Bring your books to class!

8. Hanna was 14/15 years old.  Did she have the right to decide for herself if she should live or die?  Discussion followed.

9. According to Hanna every story has 13 sides to it—not the traditional “2.”

10. All were to read up to cassette 2.
