Guiding Question: Is knowledge the same as understanding?
- Those of you who need a new composition book, get one!
- Do Now needs to look like: Do Now! (Date) Let’s Get Reacquainted.
- Be sure you follow the Spartan Code that is posted at the front of the room.
- I value respect—respect to everyone—more than anything else.
- Don’t bring your breakfast mess in here. Only have water bottles here, nothing else to drink.
- Restrooms: Go before you come in.
- Uniform: Don’t come in here with anything that’s not the uniform dress code.
- Hygiene: Please wash your jackets, sweaters, etc. Take care of your personal business. If you have had that pullover for 4 or 5 days be sure you wash it.
- Exams: Your exam grade is 10 points higher than what you actually earned.
- Tutoring: this is expressly for students who didn’t understand a concept or skill—not to just slam down on her desk make up work that’s late.
- Let her know if you ever have circumstances that are very serious and that seriously affect your work.
- Surveys: thanks for filling them out.
- Homework: It is your responsibility to check the front board for that information everyday.
- Be sure you have your books! Go to the library to find them.
- The next book we’re going to read will be about young people. Book title: 13 Reasons Why. It’s a book the students can relate to.
- She made comments about the survey results. There will be more group work, based on what the surveys revealed.
- EOC Tutoring from Mrs. Taylor in the East Annex.
- She announced as well for students to be sure and let her know if ever she says or does anything that offends anyone in class.
- She will no longer be dropping grades for kids who need them as she does that too often.
- In Literature book we are in Unit 3: Is Knowledge the same as Understanding? This is our guiding questions. We are going to go into persuasive speeches and start with “I have a Dream.”
- Report Cards come the 14th.
- She feels that the work in here is going to get easier second semester.
- Turn to 12-15 in your “Do Now” book and read what you wrote.
- Homework: Read over your do now 12-15 and think about what you wrote, and think of how you will do better.
