STOICHIOMETRY STEPS

**MAKE SURE THE EQUATION IS BALANCED FIRST
1.           Read the problem
a.           Circle what is given
b.           Circle What is asked for
c.            Take the numbers from the problem and set it up
2.           Convert Units given to moles 
a.           GIVEN UNITS (g) à MOLES
3.           Mole Ratio: This converts from one substance (Given) in the reaction to à the substance that is asked for
a.           MOLES of given substance à MOLES
4.           Convert to the units asked for
a.           MOLES à TO THE UNIT ASKED FOR (ex. g)



EXAMPLE:
1.           Given Units à Moles
2.           Moles à Moles
3.           Moles à Wanted Units


REMEMBER:
Mass: Molar Mass grams
Molecules: 6.022 x 1023
Volume: 22.4 L
