CHEMISTRY COULTER

STUDENTS TURNED IN THE HOMEWORK FROM TWO NIGHTS AGO AND HAD A BOOK CHECK.

TONIGHTS HOMEWORK:
1. WORKSHEET: ISOTOPES: REINFORCEMENT ACTIVITY
2. WORKSHEET: IONS AND SUBATOMIC PARTICLES

 NOTES:
1.     In terms of subatomic particles all atoms of a given element have one thing in common. What is it? The number of PROTONS… they tell you what element you have.

2.     In what ways do isotopes of an element differ from on another? They have different Neutrons
They have the same PROTONS.
*In what way are they similar? The number of Protons. Protons remain constant in the atom.
Which of the following are isotopes of one another?
Isotope: Atom of the same element

You can only identify an isotope from its mass.
