News/Articles/Events

I list a number of articles and videos in this enews (From Wally's FB).  The ones I recommend are:
1) Article: Parents of deaf children must navigate sounds, signs and choices early

2) Video/Article: New rules leave Iowa's deaf students without help

3) ASL Music Video: Who Says by Selena Gomez
by Rosa Lee Timm

Article: Parents of deaf children must navigate sounds, signs and choices early
(I recommend reading this one… it briefly mentions Hands to Voices on the last page.  Also, what do you think about this portion of the article:
"During that process, a lot of people tell you if you do implants you should not sign. … It's frustrating from a parent's perspective that so many people try to push you into one channel or the other,"  Phil Rosbach said. "There's a very strong school of thought amongst a lot of people that you either sign or you do implants, you don't do both.")

Article: MTV’s college channel, mtvU, will feature Gallaudet starting Oct. 24

Article: Miss Deaf America raises awareness of disability

Article: Deaf students competed in Shakespeare Festival

Article: Documentary exposes students to poetry through sign language

Article: Dance department’s first deaf student ‘feels music

Video/Article: New rules leave Iowa's deaf students without help
I recommend viewing the video and reading the article.  It is about the impact when qualified interpreters aren't provided to students.
