Chemistry - Coulter 4th

Tonights Homework: Page finish 4, 5, 6 pg. 520
Formula:

Cp=     q
       m delta t

q=joules in calories
Cp= Specific heat
m= mass grams
delta: degree celsius and charge

Mass = 10grams
Delta T (change in temperature) = 50.4c --> 25c = 25.4c

We are looking for CP

We subtract
q= 114 j
Cp= ?

       114j                   -->      114j        =        .448   --->    .450
(10.0g)(25.4c)                      254

EXTRA CREDIT: Bring in Copy Paper.. this is going to get you a 100
Today we had a book check, we worked on algebra problems, we also talked about page 520 in our Chemistry Books and reviewed our notes about specific heat.

Homework: DUE THURSDAY

Find two to three items that are made from or with your element.

Example: Sodium = Salt
    • Yasmine: Zinc/Zi
    • Markell: Cesium/CS

TEST II: FRIDAY You only have to know the symbol
  • Elements YOU MUST REMEMBER: 1-36, 37. 38, 40, 42, 46, 47, 48, 50, 51, 53, 54, 55, 56, 74, 78, 79, 82, 83, 86, 92, 94
  • The Seven Polyatomic Ions

THIS TEST WILL DETERMINE THE OUTCOME OF YOUR GRADE. I would suggest creating note cards, or a foldable to help you study.
