Biology Dosi

PBiology vocabulary. It may be helpful for them to make flash cards to help them learn and become familiar with the words. They should have some or all definitions in their notes.

Biology Plus Notes- Nov. 30, 2015

Bell Work- 1. How was your break? What did you do? Did anything important happen?

2. Take a vocabulary sheet.

The students were given a vocabulary sheet.  They were to go down the list and put a check in the block that indicated how familiar they are with each word- Know it, Kinda know it, Heard it, or No idea.

Coach P discussed the vocabulary.

Enzymes- Breakdown

Lys- cut, breakdown

Lysosomes have enzymes inside.

Plants have a cell wall on the outside and a cell membrane on the inside.  Plants have both a cell wall and a cell membrane.

Animal cells have a cell membrane.

Both animal and plant cells have a nucleus that has DNA.

CELL ORGANELLE NOTES

The cell membrane is the outer boundary of the cell. It controls what enters and exits the cell.

The nucleus contains DNA and is considered to be control center of the cell.

The nucleolus is located inside the nucleus and produces ribosomes.

These were notes from the first period. The students should have more notes.
